We Won Etisalat Award 2021 for Top Healthcare SMB

To celebrate SMB’s that have helped the UAE economy flourish, the country’s leading telecom company this year awarded top performers in several categories, and the award for the best provider in the healthcare sector went to Universal Medical Services, now Bluedot. This has been a moment of great honor for our team.

“The awards celebrate the wealth of excellence and innovation in our industry. We live and work in different times where progress is determined by how quickly and efficiently we innovate and transform for the benefit of societies, regardless of the competitive business landscape,” said Esam Mahmoud, Senior Vice President, SMB, Etisalat.

Industry veterans from Dubai Chamber, American University of Sharjah, and ADGM were among the jury members. The awards ceremony was attended by H.E. Faisal Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Entrepreneurship and SMEs from the Ministry of Economy, along with senior management from Etisalat were joined by more than 200 partners and business representatives from the SMB community.

For over six years, we have been working to improve standards in the medical transfers industry by providing a higher quality of service than most players. This is now bearing fruit with more governmental organizations and businesses approaching us for repeat transfers and long-term contracts. The Etisalat Award is a symbol of this humble achievement.

We cannot stress this point enough: the air ambulance industry, particularly in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, needs to do more for our patients. This is primarily a critical care operation and must be given the time, attention, and planning it deserves. The use of quality equipment and the deployment of an experienced and rightly qualified crew should be the norm beyond question.

Not only this, we must go beyond current practices. For instance, we have pioneered the use of digital health documentation for all patients. This means that healthcare providers at both ends of the journey have access to real-time and historic medical data of the patient, besides real-time updates by the aeromedical crew. This saves time, avoids confusion, and makes medical and travel procedures smoother.

Universal has now rebranded as Bluedot, signaling our intention to take our services even further around the globe, from the Middle East. The brand will subsume three verticals: Air Ambulance, Air Charters, and Medical Assistance. All of them are fueled by the same passion and commitment to the quality of service that our Air Ambulance operation has always stood for. And now, we look forward to setting higher standards in all three industries.

Hope. Journeys. Positivity. At your service.
